To fully and properly test it, you need to buy it, download and install the extra content, and activate the codecs. The Moderator of the English forum communicates with the German Moderator, who also watches the English forum and sometimes helps out. They also meet with Magix once or twice per year. There is a strong user group in Germany that keeps Magix in line. Sometimes there are clashes with hardware and other software, especially Windows changes, but any major problems are usually quickly sorted out. I don't recall seeing this problem on the forum, but maybe I missed it.

It probably has a few features that Vegas Pro does not, but Vegas Pro has many advanced features that VPX does not have. Don't even bother with the basic version. If you go for MEP, get at least the Plus version, better with the Premium if you like the additional third party addons. From what I have seen, it is much more straight forward than Vegas. You don't get all of the goodies but you get a good idea of the look and feel of it.
